Manchester High School’s robotics team, Geared Up, traveled last weekend to Masuk High School in Monroe Conn. to compete in the VEX Robotics Sack Attack game. There were approximately 30 teams at the competition. Geared Up was representing with two teams 822A and 822B. Addison Carter and Eric Iaquinto did a remarkable job by taking 822B into the semi-finals! Geared Up’s main programmer Cory Boucher was very busy programming both of the teams robots all day!

Team 822A with Eric Bachman, A.J. and Ken Lippo had a stellar day. Placing 1^st in Programming Skills, with Cory’s help. They also placed 1^st in Robot Skills. Team 822A made it into the Finals and were knocked out in the very last match. However because of their overall performance and their placing 1^st in the Programming and Robot Skills challenges Manchester High’s 822A was awarded the Team Excellence Award, giving Geared Up another invite to the VEX Robotics World Championship held during April in California!

Congratulations Geared Up! And Good luck! Manchester High School will be hosting the next Connecticut Sack Attack game on January 5. Come down and support out teams!
