This project was inspired by trending videos on YouTube that have taken over the internet. These are made by people ranging from college students to military personnel. The basic guidelines for the video are just to film one person dancing in an area with uninterested people to the song Harlem Shake. When the bass drop comes there is a jump cut to a video of as many people as we can gather with whatever props they can find and have them all dancing. The objective of these videos is to make the most energetic and exciting scene possible. It is all in the purpose of fun.
When I saw them, I thought it would be a good way to positively represent the Manchester High School community by showing that we can cooperate and listen to each other in order put together a video in less than 10 minutes, while having a ton of fun at the same time. I also thought this video would be a good way to gain exposure for Redline by putting mainstream content on the site that everyone would enjoy watching.
